Sewing Class

My mother in law and sister in law are in town, so we all decided to go to Porters and get some fun fabric for my first project in my sewing class next week. I also got some cute other stuff for a craft that I will blog about when I finish it. I am super excited. It is so cute!!! Here is a picture of the fabric I got. I wont spoil what I am making till you can see the finish project. I am so excited to learn how to sew. I am so thankful I got a sewing machine from my aunt as a wedding present. This will make me not have to go to the sewing lab and to be able to sew at home. Can't wait to start learning everything! <3

Vegas!!

Zack and I were able to spend a week in Vegas. We went to the temple one day, walked the strip, ate at some good restaurants, went to a drive-in movie theater, went to the Hoover dam and relaxed. We had so much fun. It was hard to leave to come back to school. Here are some pictures from the trip.

Mini Apple Pie's

Zack’s cousin gave us a bunch of apples and we needed to do something with them fast, before they went bad. So we made mini apple pies. Here is a picture of how they turned out. They were so good! They melted in your mouth.

Last winter I made a goal to lose weight. Well that was harder then I thought. Then when I met Zack for some reason it just happened. I have now met my goal and have lost 17 pounds. With out even trying. Who would of thought that being in love would do that to you.

Bridal Shower

I had so much fun at my bridal shower and had so many people I adore there. I am such a lucky girl to have friends and family that love and support me. I am so excited that I only have 6 more weeks till I get to marry my best friend. I cannot wait : )

Zack's family came in to town a couple of weeks ago. We had a big group date with his brothers & sister. We played games and ate pizza,then we went bowling. I actually beat Zack at bowling, this is a new thing : ) We had such a great time laughing and having fun!

4-Month Anniversary

Zack and I celebrated our 4-month anniversary on Sunday and decided to go all out for it. We made a big feast!! With steak, mashed potatoes, fresh veggies, garlic bread, sparkling cider, and pistachio pudding. For dessert we had red velvet cake with confetti frosting. It was so good!!! Only 2 1/2 more months till Zack and I can be together forever!!

The engagement story:)

Zack proposed on our 2-month anniversary! Here is the story of what happened. On Monday my family had plans to go to the beach and after the beach Zack and I were going to stay out in Oceanside and have our 2-month celebration. After we left the beach Zack and I went and had dinner on the pier at Ruby’s. They have really good hamburgers. After that we had plans to head toward San Diego to go to the La Jolla Coves. When we got there Zack went into the trunk and grabbed something from underneath a blanket. I had seen the blanket in the car, which I did not put in and didn’t even question it. That is not like me because I am very snoopy! He brought out a basket full of my favorite foods and martinellis and said, “ Happy 2 months” It was the cutest thing ever. We started walking over to the coves, to start out picnic and Zack starts looking into the basket and was all, “ I can’t find the starburst”. He was all we need to go back to see if the starburst our in the trunk. I was all, “its okay we don’t need starburst” but Zack was convinced that we needed them. We then headed back to the car and he looked in the trunk for the starburst box, which he couldn’t find. He then got a panic look on his face and hurried and called my mom. I was kind of confused on what was going on, but caught on fast. As he was calling my mom I said to him, “ there are not just starburst in the box are there?” He then shook his head and said no there is something else. I then caught on and figured out what was in the box. He then got a hold of my mom and she said she found the starburst box in the garage where he put together the basket. He felt so bad because at the bottom of the starburst box the ring was wrapped in a paper towel. I then said lets just go have our picnic and not let this ruin our night. Well as we were walking to find a spot I got splashed by and wave and my shorts were soaking wet. I then said lets get on those rocks because we will not get wet up there. As we sat up there all of a sudden a big wave comes and splashes water all over us on top of the rocks. We then thought to ourselves… “Today is not our day” ha-ha Zack then talked to my parents and they offered to drive the starburst box out to Oceanside and give it to us there. We then got the box and headed over to a spot that I know of in Oceanside away from everyone where we could have a picnic. He then popped the question and of course I said “Yes” We then just continued to sit on the beach talking. We had such a fun day and a day I will never forget. I just love that boy so much and I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with him. I can’t wait until December 21^st. It is going to be the best day of my life!!!!

I have to say I think that I have gotten hurt, almost every weekend
Jammed my finger playing soccer, slipped on ice on the way to fhe sisters apt for a late night movie, bruising my tail bone while sledding, getting a huge bruise from getting kicked on the leg, bruising my butt while snowboard/getting hit in the leg by my board then getting hives for five days straight from eating dairy. Man I think I should probably hide away, so I can have one weekend where I do not get hurt ha-ha.

Last Sunday my cousin and I made a Christmas cake and were really happy on how it turned out. It is not that good but we did good for never taking any classes on cake decorating

All of the things on top, are made out of rice krispies with

marshmallow fondant over them.

Halloween Sugar Cookies

2 1/2 Flour
1/2 Sour cream
1/2 Crisco
1 tsp Vanilla
Dash of salt
1/4 tsp Baking soda
1 Egg
1 c. Sugar
1 Tsp baking powder

Add all the wet ingredients together
Then add the dry ingredients.
Bake at 375 until they look golden brown

Then cook @ 375

CheeseCake Cupcakes

Cheesecake Cupcakes
(Perfect Sunday desert)

Crust:
1-1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
2 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons melted butter

Filling:
20 ounce cream cheese
1 cup sugar
filling
1/2 teaspoons vanilla
3 eggs

Mix crust ingredients and press into cupcake holders. Bake for 10 minutes @ 350 degrees. Beat together filling ingredients by hand. Pour into a cooled crust and bake for 1 hour @ 300 degrees

Top with
8 ounces sour cream
4 teaspoons sugar
Bake for 10 minutes
ENJOY!!!

Sweet Sixteen

My brother Erik had his sweet sixteen-birthday party. He asked me to throw it and decorate and make the cake. Of course I jumped on the offer. I love planning things.
For the cake I decided to do a fondant cake.
It took emu about 3 ½ hours; it didn’t turn out how I wanted it to because it was free hand. But I think I did a pretty good job.

Life back in California

Life back in California has been good; minus the fact that my purse got stolen the second day I was home. I forgot I was not in good old Rexburg and left my purse in my car where you could not see it unless you looked through the windows because they were tinted. Someone broke the window of my mom’s car and stole it and bought gas on my credit card. We then had to rekey the house and my car. It ended up costing me around eight hundred dollars. I for sure learned my lesson. Other then that being home has been awesome.

Saturday morning two of my roommates and I went and climbed R Mountain.

It was so much fun!!

The first part was all up hill and that was really hard.
Then we went off the path and had to climb through bushes and over rocks.

It reminded me when I was little and
we would go on family vacations and go hiking.

Cookie Monster Sunday

Today my roommates and I decided that we were going to make a BIG cookie monster.

The Recipe
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup of butter (2 sticks)
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups choc chips

Preheat oven to 375. Stir flour with baking soda and salt; set aside. Beat butter with sugar and brown sugar at medium speed until creamy and lightened in color (about 4 min). Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time, mixing on low speed until incorporated.
Gradually blend dry mixture into creamed mixture. Stir in choc chips.
Split dough into two cake circle pans
Cook dough for about 10 to 12 minutes, you want the dough to be soft when you bring it out. You don't want it to be cooked all the way.
Put scoops of ice cream on cookie & ENJOY!!

Waffle Party

My roommates and I have been craving waffles for the last 2 weeks. Which lead us to have a waffle party. I thought that I would use my (event planning) skills and plan a sweet party. We had waffles, banana waffles, and choc chip waffles. For the toppings we had strawberries, bananas, and homemade whip cream! The waffles were so good! Everything went so smoothly. We had a good amount of people show up. A lot more guys than girls, but hey I’m not complaining. :) We decided that we are going to throw more parties like that one. The next party we are going to plan is having a cup cake party. I'm so excited

Flower Arrangment!

I am loving my flower arrangment class. It is so much fun! I kinda suck at it, but it's okay. The first week of class we learned how to tie bows.

We also learned how to make corsages. I never new how much time was put into making them. I have made 3 already one that was all red and with a black bow. One with all pink flowers and a white bow. Then the last one i made was purple and orange flowers with a purple bow. I went and gave my aunt the purple and orange one. It ended up matching her outfit so she wore it. I felt kinda special.

The last thing that I have learned in class is, how to color die flowers with a certain spray that, you spray on your flowers or leaves. It looks really cool

I am excited for next week because we are making center pieces.
